Every maker is hand-picked
No self-service sign-up opens a shop on Crafida. Every maker's work is looked at before they are here at all, and pieces are reviewed before they go on show. What that means in practice is that what is on show here is handmade work, not stock bought in and resold.
Every piece is made by hand in Egypt
Every piece on Crafida is made by hand in Egypt. And that brings something that has to be said plainly: handmade work varies slightly from piece to piece, in colour and in the fine detail. That is not a fault in the piece — it is the difference between it and something printed in bulk. Each piece's description states its material and its dimensions, and its photographs are of that piece or of the same model.
With you from the order to the doorstep
An order is not left between the buyer and the maker alone. • Shipping is a flat 100 EGP to every governorate of Egypt, shown before the order is confirmed. • Cash on delivery: you open the parcel and check the item before you pay. • If the piece is not right, you can refuse it at the door and nothing is paid. • The conversation the order was placed in is the same one any question or problem is settled in.
