Introduction

Crafida provides commerce tools for Egyptian handmade sellers: a smart assistant that answers customers in the seller's Instagram inbox, secure checkout links, order confirmation over WhatsApp, payment processing, and delivery. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights — whether you are a buyer chatting with a shop and placing an order, or a seller using Crafida to run your business. By using Crafida — including messaging a shop connected to Crafida or placing an order through a Crafida checkout link — you agree to this policy.

Information We Collect

From buyers: • Checkout details: your name, phone number, delivery address and governorate, and an optional map location pin — collected when you place an order through a Crafida checkout link, and used to fulfill and deliver your order • Order details: the products you order, prices, and your chosen payment method (cash on delivery or card) • Instagram messages: when you message a shop that uses Crafida on Instagram, we receive and store the conversation (your messages and the shop's replies) through Meta's messaging APIs • WhatsApp messages: the order-confirmation messages we exchange with you on WhatsApp From sellers: • Account details: name, phone number, and shop information • Payout details: bank account or wallet information, stored encrypted • Product catalog, orders, and sales records Automatically: • Basic technical information such as device type, browser, and IP address when you use our website

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: • Answer customer messages: messages sent to a connected shop's Instagram inbox are processed by an AI assistant (powered by Anthropic's Claude) so the shop can respond quickly; a human can take over the conversation at any time • Create and fulfill orders: your name, phone number, address, and location pin are used to prepare and deliver your order • Confirm orders and send updates: we contact you on WhatsApp using the phone number you provide at checkout • Process card payments through our payment provider • Pay sellers their earnings • Operate the service and provide support: Crafida's operations team can access orders and conversations to run deliveries, resolve issues, and assist sellers • Detect and prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your messages for advertising.

Information Sharing

We share information only with the parties needed to run the service: • Meta Platforms (Instagram and WhatsApp): conversations and confirmation messages are received and sent through Meta's messaging APIs, subject to Meta's terms • Anthropic: message content is processed by the Claude API to generate the assistant's replies; under its API terms, Anthropic does not use this data to train its models • Payment processing (Paymob): card payments are processed by Paymob — we never see or store your full card details • Delivery partners (such as Bosta): receive your name, phone number, and delivery address to deliver your order • Sellers: each seller sees the conversations, orders, and delivery details of their own customers only • Cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services): our systems and data are hosted on secured AWS infrastructure • Legal authorities, when required by law or to protect our rights

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including: • Encryption of data in transit • Encrypted storage of sensitive payout details • Verified, signed webhooks for all messaging and payment integrations • Access controls limiting data access to authorized team members • Secure payment processing through certified providers — Crafida never stores card numbers

Data Retention

We retain order records and conversation transcripts for as long as needed to operate the service, fulfill orders, resolve disputes, meet tax and legal obligations, and improve the service. You can request deletion of your personal data at any time (see Your Rights below). We will delete personal data we are not legally required to keep.

Your Rights

You have the right to: • Access the personal information we hold about you • Correct inaccurate information • Request deletion of your personal data • Object to processing of your information • Withdraw consent where applicable To exercise any of these rights — including requesting deletion of your data — contact us at privacy@crafida.com from the phone number or account the data belongs to. We will respond within 30 days.

Cookies

Our website uses essential cookies to keep sellers signed in and to remember your language preference. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect sign-in functionality. Placing an order through a checkout link does not require an account or any non-essential cookies.

Children's Privacy

Crafida is not intended for children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date; for significant changes we will notify you on the platform or by message. Continued use of Crafida after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
